Stephanie Point, CEO, Point 2 Point Global Security, Inc. Named one of Ernst & Young LLP’s 2011 Entrepreneurial Winning Women

Stephanie Point is one of 10 winners recognized nationwide with this prestigious award

Phoenix, MD, (October 24, 2011) – Point 2 Point Global Security, Inc., an industry leading provider of quality, customer focused security services in the United States, today announced that Stephanie Point, CEO, was named one of Ernst & Young LLP’s 2011 Entrepreneurial Winning Women. Stephanie is one of 10 exceptional women recognized throughout the country with this prestigious award.

Launched in 2008, the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program identifies and connects a select group of high-potential women entrepreneurs with the advisors, resources and insights they need to scale up and become market leaders.

The women participate in a customized leadership program designed by the firm to catalyze their companies’ growth by building and fostering critical relationships, enhancing leadership skills, expanding business know-how and providing increased visibility. They are coached on the five crucial leaps they need to scale up their business:

  • Setting higher goals,
  • Building a public profile,
  • Working on the business, rather than in it,
  • Establishing key advisory networks,
  • Evaluating financing for expansion.

The winners represent a wide variety of industries and were selected from a competitive pool of women entrepreneurs across the US by a distinguished panel of independent judges, including:

  • Lisa B. Bair, CEO, Hobart Group Holdings
  • Howard Brodsky, Chairman and CEO, CCA Global Partners
  • Jeri Harman, Founder and Partner, Avante Mezzanine Partners
  • Rob Scott, Vice President and Worldwide General Manager, Hewlett-Packard
  • Mary Ellen Sheets, Founder, Two Men And A Truck®

The Entrepreneurial Winning Women program has a track record of helping leading women entrepreneurs grow their businesses significantly by providing key resources and support. Revenues of Winning Women companies have grown almost 50% each year on average, with a corresponding average annual job growth rate of more than 25%.

“Stephanie is an exceptional business leader with great potential to scale her company, and we are pleased to honor her as one of this year’s winners,” said Herb Engert, Americas Strategic Growth Markets Leader for Ernst & Young LLP. “Women entrepreneurs are among the brightest spots in the economy, continuing to successfully grow their companies despite the volatile market. They will be important contributors as we look to get our economy back on track.”

The 10 Entrepreneurial Winning Women will also receive complimentary participation in this year’s Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum. Dubbed by as one of the "Seven Get-Ahead Executive Retreats," the Strategic Growth Forum will bring together more than 2,100 of the nation's most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders to share growth strategies. The Winning Women will be introduced at a special luncheon induction ceremony at the Strategic Growth Forum and will be provided with numerous opportunities to network throughout the conference with successful entrepreneurs, senior executives and investors who can act as formal or informal advisors, provide access to capital and extend their extensive business relationships to the Winning Women.

The program is conducted in collaboration with several organizations that empower women-owned businesses, including the Women Presidents’ Organization, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, National Association of Women Business Owners, The Committee of 200, the Kauffman Foundation and Babson College’s Center for Women’s Leadership. Initially a US initiative, the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program has now launched in Indonesia, and Australia, and programs are in development in Brazil, South Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, Ukraine and Hungary.
